Here’s something a little different that may intrigue those of you out there who are currently stuck somewhere between your old Atari 2600 and that PlayStation2. On Wednesday, June 26 there is going to be a Write Your Own Nintendo Music Workshop at ourspace on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall (located below the Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar). And yes, you read that correctly.
The workshop begins at 7pm and is hosted by Brendan from MAGfest (Music And Gaming Festival). Cost is $5 and the proceeds all go to ourspace. I can almost hear the sweet sounds of up, down, up, down, A, B, Start right now.

As we noted last week in our A Collection of Musical Odds N Ends post, The Dawning, one of the East Coast’s longest running goth/industrial dance nights, was looking for a new location to hold its weekly event. As of May 31, The Dawning will no longer be held at its current location at the Outback Lodge.
Well it appears that a new home has been found. Beginning on June 7, The Dawning will now be held at ourspace, located at 414 East Main Street (below the Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall). So without missing a single beat, The Dawning will continue!
In addition to having a new location, The Dawning will now be open to ALL AGES and the admission price for all shows will be $4. Again, The Dawning’s first event at its new home will be Saturday, June 7 at 10pm at ourspace. The Dawning’s last show at Outback Lodge is on Saturday, May 31 at 10pm and features Synthetic Division, Myotis, and DJ Swift. Admission price for the final Dawning at Outback is $7.
