For those of you who don’t know, Charlottesville has its very own homegrown improv comedy troupe called The Bent Theatre. They have a loyal following and entertain audiences on a regular basis. The following is a profile of their director, Jim Zarling, a unique and funny fellow!

What do you think is a common misconception about improv comedy?

That you have to be funny and full of jokes. Improv works best when you’re reacting naturally to the situations in which the audience places you.

Charlottesville’s wacky and wild Bent Theater Improve Comedy Troupe is at it again! Catch them at R2 on the Downtown Mall on June 19th at 8pm. Tickets for R2 shows are $5. The Bent Theater performs at R2 every third Thursday of the month.

On June 27, the Bent Theater will be performing at Play On! Theater at 8pm. Tickets are $6 at the door.
