THE MUSE
“Through the Muses, when taken together, form a complete picture of the subjects proper to poetic art…”
Whether we in Charlottesville explore the arts through the actors on a stage, the lens or line of a brushstroke, or the raising of voices in song, cvilleMUSE is here to promote, connect, and celebrate the artists and audiences of our community.
This is your place to discover new music, to find out about the performers and performances in our area, and to share your thoughts and opinions on what’s happening in and around Charlottesville. And if we happen to have a little fun along the way, we’ll consider it icing on the cake.
MUSIC
Content
When it comes to down to it, the Charlottesville music scene is an embarassment of riches. From stringbands to indie-rockers, singer-songwriters to blues artists, Charlottesville is home to a wide range of talented performers. Some of them have record deals and others are out busking on the downtown Mall, gathering dollars and quarters in an open guitar case (at or below 75 decibels mind you). Either way, they sing the songs and we stop and listen. We want cvilleMUSE to be the place where you stop by to tell each other that music and to find out when and where you can hear it again.
At cvilleMUSE you can find out about the all the local venues ranging from the intimate listening rooms (Gravity Lounge, Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar) to the big stages featuring regional and national touring artists (John Paul Jones Arena, Charlottesville Pavilion). From local radio to the movers and shakers that make the music happen here in Charlottesville, we want you to know what’s going on with the bands and the venues you love.
Features

Charlottesville Events
Our latest new feature to cvilleMUSE is the listing of Charlottesville Events which now runs along the right side our page. Each event is listed by day of the performance. All you have to do is click on the name of the performer and up pops a page which tells you where that artist will be performing, the time of the performance, as well as the cost of the show and a brief description of the evening’s festivities. This pop up event page even includes a clickable map feature which shows you the location of the venue!
If by chance you see that we’ve overlooked a concert or performance large or small, let us know. Space Rambler is the man to contact. He maintains the events that pass through our galaxy here at cvilleMUSE. If you have a calendar event, email it to spacerambler@spicybear.com and he’ll make sure it makes up on our listing of Charlottesville Events.
