Lamb of God - Walk With Me in Hell (DVD)

I was in Fox Park Coffee on the Corner this morning discussing the finer points of Slayer with a coworker. The root of the conversation was that if you didn’t have Slayer in your mp3 player you were definitely missing something out of life. In a moment of panic I looked at my ipod and realized (whew) OK I do have some Slayer - my day is not lost.

Moments later, a woman in her late 50s/early 60s with short gray hair turned around to us and said..

Her: Excuse me are you talking about Slayer?
squidtank: Why yes, in fact we are!
Her: Have you ever heard of Lamb of God?
(Perhaps she saw the surprise on my face)
squidtank: Yeah I have! I like them, they have been really taking off lately
Her: Their new DVD Walk With Me in Hell is really good, I think you’ll like it. I know you must be looking at me like why is this old lady watching heavy metal DVDs!’
squidtank: Nahhhhh (laughing with her)
Her: Well my two sons are in that band!
squidtank: No sh*t! That’s awesome! Wow, tell them I really like them! It’s nice to meet you!
Her: Thanks! They have been touring a lot lately and they’re really happy things are going well.

So there you go. Lamb of God are Richmond boys and have been around forEVER. I haven’t seen the DVD yet but I did see them years ago at something. Maybe it was Ozzfest or possibly opening for GWAR? I don’t remember. Anyway, that’s my promotion for the day and a little Virginia metal on a Friday morning never hurt anyone. Plus, it’s mother approved.

and before Lamb of God they were Burn the Priest i believe. My buddy Boober knew those guys when he lived in Richmond. As a matter of fact, unless I’m mistaken, he played with a one or two of those guys. at the very least I know one of Boober’s bands opened for them.
