Phil Lesh & Friends Headin’ to Charlottesville

Phil & Friends [www.phillesh.net]

Phil Lesh and Friends are on their way to Charlottesville once again and for longtime Deadheads here in central Virginia, the countdown to showtime is just a little more than 24 hours a way.  Gates for Tuesday’s (07/08) show at the Charlottesville Pavilion open at 6pm.  Show time is 7pm.    Tickets for the show are still availabe.  For more info, click here.

Tuesday’s show marks the second time is less than eight months that Phil & Friends have played at the Pavilion, with their last performance taking place on October 13th of last year.  I’m almost positive that many of those who attended last year’s show will probably be heading to see this year’s show as well.  So for all you Deadheads out there, here’s my question:  What songs are you hoping the band pulls out this time around?  Let’s hear your wish lists for Tuesday’s Pavilion show!

[And to help remind you what Phil & Friends played at last year’s show, we’ve included the setlist for that 2007 October show after the break.]

@1 yep. Back in May @ the Warfield. 5 nights in a row for the closing of the Warfield. It seems weird that PopMatters is just now getting around to covering the concerts almost six weeks after they took place. For the curious here’s the link to a recap of Show 1: Phil Lesh & Friends - Part One: Brokedown Palace

My all time favorite: Ramble On Rose, would be nice. I wouldn’t mind a New Speedway, either and i heard a rumor they’ve been playing Mason’s Children. I say no way.

    And Anything from Mars Hotel.

    Really anything pre-Midland.

    Well, you got Truckin!

It was a good show…nice to see Jackie hitting his stride and stepping out more this year. Theresa has a phenomenal voice and that China Doll gave me goose bumps.

The crowd was fantastic, as you’d expect. The only trouble was with a group outside the gates…they had open containers and were arguing with police about that. Kind of silly. Later in the night, I saw the police up on the bridge, perhaps for the same reason?

Anyway, it was a great night!

Who else will be seeing them again later this week? :)

NO2 @ a Phil Lesh show? Sound about right to me. The Villain has photos and more details:

    Wa-Wa-Wa-Where Were the Cops?

Any crazy stories from the show earlier this week? I haven’t heard too much about the show in general. Except as Upstart reports…Truckin’ made the set list. Any details?

It all takes me back to the good ol days of Panic shows at the Horse Center in Lexington, Hampton-Sydney, Carlisle, Pa, etc…

Thinking about it, there was one odd thing that would require someone who saw another Phil Lesh show to weigh in on.

At the show here, the band came out, when a stage crew guy came out and made a point of putting an Obama sticker on one of the amps or speakers. At some point during the show, I noticed that the sticker was gone.

I’m all for Obama, but the sticker thing seemed like it might have been staged and I’m wondering if they’re doing that little act at all the shows. I saw them at Allgood, but *hangs head* I was not in a condition to pay attention to that detail.

yea for allgood! i was not only not in any condition to look for sticker staging, i had to remove myself due to desire to twirl glowsticks on strings (while not in any condition to do so within close proximity to others)…

but hell yeah for Tea Leaf Green’s set!

i also really dug The Almighty Senators, Bassnectar and The Brazillian girls.
