06/13: Song of the Day. George Thorogood–One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer
On any given Friday night back in the day, you were almost guaranteed to find my friends and I loaded up in a pick-up truck or my buddy’s Chevy Celebrity, riding the country dirt roads, and heading off for some destination where we would build a fire, maybe throw down a tent, and kick off the weekend in fine style. (can you say a case of ” The Beast” boys and girls?).
Inevitably, just as the sun was going down, the classic rock station (which was blaring from a car stereo with the windows rolled down) would almost every weekend play one of two songs just as the festivities were getting underway. It was almost like clockwork and it didn’t matter if it was 8pm, 9pm, or later when we got started. Same two songs everytime! The first of the two possibilities was Nazareth’s “Hair of the Dog” (which is a personal favorite). And the second song is posted after the jump (which was everyone’s favorite).
So here’s to being young, to not knowing any better, and to not caring to know any better at the time. Happy weekend! (Why do I suddenly feel like I starred in my own personal version of Dazed and Confused?)
