Friday, June 6

The Summertime Blues: Plenty of performances to highlight in you’re a blues fan beginning with The Blues Jam at Gravity Lounge. Featuring Ed Freeman, Jared Harris, Louisa Wimerger, Jim Keathley, James Rubin, and Marc Modica, this gets underway at 7pm. $10 and come prepared to dance! Also on tap for your Friday is the Eli Cook Band at Durty Nelly’s at 9:30pm and the Chickenhead Blues Band at Felini’s beginning at 10pm. Admission price for both is $5.

In addition, there is a second show at the Gravity Lounge tonight as DJ’s Clinic, Bristol, Body80, and Cadence perform at a benefit show for The Bridge and ourspace. This gets underway at 10pm following the Blues Jam. $5.

Finally, grab some shade under the Pavilion canopy and get yourself a nice cold beverage as The Original Charlottesville Allstars perform at Friday’s After Five. Gates open at 5:30pm. Iam Gilliam opens. Free.

The Dawning holds its first event in its new space Saturday at 10pm at ourspace (located below the Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar). Open to all ages, this goth and industrial dance night features sounds by DJ Rift and DJ Elaris. Cost is $4.

Andy Friedman and Other Failures perform at Felini’s Sunday at 10pm. No cover. (Highly recommended)

Finally here’s my overlooked classic of the weekend. Nashville-based singer/songwriter Tom House is at the Gravity Lounge on Sunday at 7:30pm. Charlottesville’s own Keith Morris and The Crooked Fingers and Wes Swing open. $10. This one should be fantastic!
