The cvilleMUSE Mix Tape 3

It wasn’t that long ago that the weather folks were telling us that May was one of the chilliest on record. (For the record it was, at the very least, the coolest May since 1992.) Well things have changed in a hurry as temperatures are forecasted in the mid to upper 90’s through the weekend with heat indexes forecasted as high as 105.

So instead of avoiding the heat we’ve decided to greet it head on with another edition of our cvilleMUSE Mix Tape series. This, not counting our unfinished Poetry Mix, will be our third installment to date and will carry with it a sweltering theme. Hopefully you haven’t forgotten the guidelines. I’ll begin with a video after the jump and then you folks follow with songs to be added to the mix by submitting your additions in our comments section. First come, first serve. We’ll take the first 10 songs and remember to send along a video URL with your song choice.

Our theme for this Mix Tape is: Hot Time, Summer in The City

I’ll start off with this one:

Ok, I not feeling particularly Jazzy today (also Kiss me Kate already went there) so I post a silly summer hit from Germany in the 90ies. It’s a mock version of Sexy Eyes calles Sexy Eis (meaning Sexy Icecream). Even if you don’t speak German you will get the idea.

kool and the gang’s “summer madness”, an instrumental masterpiece for cruising around on a summer evening or just chillin with a cold one. awesome, with killer guitar action.

For a long time I assumed Morrissey never went outside. But I guess he did just long enough to be sad about those that do.

@7. lividlunch, Summer Madness rocks but Too Hot would have been prevalent to our current conditions. Good choice though.

“Here it is, a groove slightly transformed.” It’s time to think about Summertime with Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff.

That’s trippy, five. I was just prepping a flavor of that song (Sam Mollison’s rock solid remix) to play tonight… was thinking it would make a ‘hot’ opener, in fact. Weird.

Awesome B’Yo. It’s a great opener. You probably have the best mixes ever and I’ll come out one of these days to see you hold it down!

/My personal favorite for dancing, *Calabria 2007*. “woop woop”

Double weird! I was just processing a “clalbria/horny” ‘gaudino/mousse t’ mash up that I haven’t played in a while! (allthough the natasha/mims extended flavor will almost always get folks to the floor)

So tell me, miss cleo, what else am I playin?

  24. 18 Jun 2008 at 3:18 pmfive said:

If you’re mashing up then I would think one of two.

    1. Justin Timberlake vs Sugarhill Gang - Rock Your Body vs. Rappers Delight

    or

    2. Eurythmics vs Eminem - Sweet Dreams vs. Without Me
