Lobby No More…

….because guess who is coming to Charlottesville?!?

.

My Morning Jacket

MY MORNING JACKET, THAT’S WHO!!!

I have to admit that I don’t have all the details, but I can say with 100% certainty that Jim James and the boys are indeed coming to Charlottesville!!!  Their performance will be at the Charlottesville Pavilion this summer.  Date and time of the show, along with a sale date for tickets to be announced very soon.

wait, wait. I gotta admit, I’m not a big fan. not that I’m an anti-fan, I just don’t know much of their music. I’ve heard a few songs off the new album, but what’s the best older album to get?

well the best older album to get (in my opinion) would be “At Dawn”…but I’m not sure how readily available that one is…but it includes some of my favorite MMJ songs including “Phone Went West”! if you can find it, get it. (best bet is iTunes if you just want the music). Since they’ve only got 4 studio albums to this point the choices are limited but you can’t go wrong with “Z” either. (their most recent studio)… and as an added treat you should also check out frontman Jim James joined by Calexico doing Bob Dylan’s “Going to Acapulco” from the I’m Not There movie soundtrack. It’s freakin’ awesome!! Is that too much info? Sorry bout that.
