While they will not be appearing as their cartoon selves, the pop-rock band OK Go will be in Charlottesville in their human form as part of UVA’s Springfest on Saturday.  Joining Ok Go are Tim Be Told, On Your Terms, and Technicolor.  Events run from noon -7pm.  No cover.  At UVA’s Nameless Field, next to Snyder Tennis Center.  Treadmills not included.  For the rest of your weekend happenings…

• The Wednesday Night Regulars, The Whiskey Rebellion, & The Courtney Hollow Band perform as part of the Mostly Bluegrass Benefit at 8pm on Friday at the 214 Community Arts Center.  $10 adults / $7 students / children under 12 FREE.  Proceeds benefit the 214 Community Arts Center.

• Live and local.  Charlie Pastorfield and Bob Girard and the rest of The Gladstones are at the Gravity Lounge Friday at 7:30pm.  The Bop Cats open.  $10.

• Which Jenkins are you again?  Local rockers The Nice Jenkins are at Durty Nelly’s Friday at 9:30pm.  $5.  To make things a little more confusing, Richmond, VA’s own The Great White Jenkins are at UVA’s Off Grounds Gallery on Friday.  Eric Carbonara and Nick Schillace open.  8pm.  No cover.  Got it?  Good.

• Winners of the Hook’s Charlottesville Online Battle of the Bands in 2007, Dreaming Isabelle is at the Gravity Lounge on Saturday.  Dear Dear opens.  7:30pm.  $8.

• A gathering of the goths.  The Dawning with DJ’s Rift and Patrick Allen at Outback Lodge on Saturday.  10pm.  $5.

• And if sports is your thing, you can see some of the nation’s finest lacrosse action on display as the UVA men’s Lacrosse team takes on the Duke Blue Devils Saturday at Klockner Stadium.  6pm.  $5-9.

• Road trippin’ for the Bard.  Looking for an afternoon or evening to get away from it all?  Then head over Afton Mountain to Staunton as the Blackfriar’s Playhouse presents a weekend full of Bill Shakespeare.  Featuring performances of Henry V on Friday at 7:30pm and a Sunday matinee at 2pm.  And on Saturday it’s a double-bill with a 2pm matinee performance of The Taming of the Shrew followed by The Merchant of Venice at 7:30pm.  Ticket prices vary.  Call 540. 851.1733 for more info.

• And finally, it’s time once again for the fellas of Charlottesvile to squeeze those size 11’s into a pair of stilhetto heels.  Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an event which invites men to march up Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall in high heels to raise awareness for victims of rape, sexual assault, and gender violence.  Sign-in begins Sunday at 1pm at the Free Speech Wall, walk begins at 1:30pm.  For more info call 295.7273.
