The Song of the Day, 04/11

Today’s Song of the Day is a brief glimpse into your upcoming music-filled weekend.  Colin Meloy, of Decemberists fame, will be performing a rare solo show at the Satellite Ballroom on Saturday.  Laura Gibson opens.  8pm.  $22/$25 at the door.  Maybe even more rare than a solo show at the Satellite, would be a solo show in an elevator.  The wonders of YouTube never cease to amaze.  Here’s Colin in an elevator, presumably on his way down.

its good to see he has an amazing voice outside the studio, too. i was worried that the high ticket prices wouldnt be worth it. now i REALLY cant wait. hopefully its mostly decemberists stuff.

i have a feeling it could more be more like 50/50. decemberists/new material and covers. how was minus the bear btw indie? BTW–I think it would have been classic had colin gotten shut out of the elevator.
