The Song of the Day, 03/24

I thought we’d kick off our first Monday at cvilleMUSE, as well as our first full week in operation, with a little taste of Charlottesville.

For my money, Sarah White is one of our local superstars.  And if you don’t own a copy of her album White Light…you should be stung by ten thousand bees.  If you say you’re going to go get a copy right away, five thousand bees.  If you already own a copy, one bee.  (thank you Jack Handey).

Sarah’s latest gem is the self-released five song EP Sweetheart.  In 2007, the title track won best song in the NewSong Contest sponsored by the fine folks at the Mountain Stage.

This week you can catch Sarah White at Orbit Billiards on Wednesday, 3/26 at 10:30pm.  Sarah will be opening for the Sam Wilson Band.  To see it, the price is O so nice:  FREE.  Here’s Sarah performing “Sweetheart” live in NYC. Happy Monday.

Sarah is the best thing going in this town. It’s only a matter of time til she hits it big.

I couldn’t agree more. Gotta throw some love in there for Mr. Jim Waive as well!

love both of them! The only thing about “hitting it big” is we would have to share them with the rest of the world.

But on the other hand, the world would be a better place with their music in it’s head. Wouldn’t you agree?

I totally understand though. I sorta felt the same way when the Avett Brothers started to get big. When you find music you love you want to share it with the whole world. When the whole world finds the music you love, you wish you had all to yourself.
