Son’s of Bill gets to play twice? Are they really that good?

I saw BB King in Eastern Washington when I used to live in Seattle. That guy is so amazing, I highly recommend going to that show.

    booooooo

couldn’t really come up with a safer list of bands that are all guaranteed to sell at least above average in this city

    how about taking some risks?

i take that back — the one risky show that probably won’t sell well on there is the Switchfoot show

but we all know why they’re on the schedule…

Boy the dolly is going to be busy this year cartin’ em back and forth onto the stage. Its less of a venue and more of a rest home.

What we need is a Pavillain…

I’ve seen a few of these folks before…I’ve seen Emmylou before (Telluride, Merlefest, and at the Warner Theater in DC) and while I’m a huge fan, I probably won’t make it, unless Buddy Miller is part of the package. If Buddy is here, then I’ll be there. Black Crowes I saw back in the HORDE days with Ziggy Marley. Phil Lesh doesn’t interest me in the least. BB King will get my money for sure. And my dad is a big Willie fan so dad if you’re reading this…we should go. No correct that. We will go.

If you were at the Nissan stop for that, back in the ’90’s, I was there too. Good show. Especially from backstage. Also on the bill: Blues Traveler and Wilco. Ah, my silly days of youth. I’d pushed a couple of random and boastful Rolling Stone Magazine stringers into proving their power by telling them I wouldn’t believe a thing they said unless they got me back stage. Long story short, all access pass was mine. Post concert beers on the bus with Wilco (very smart, very funny and very much gentlemen) until we all went to a tour participant birthday party for one of the guys from the Crows. At least no one tried to trade me for a case of beer.
/watched “Almost Famous” way too many times

Honestly, this is a terrible lineup for a place like the pavillion that charges over $30 per show. I’d rather drive 45 East to Innsbrook and see some of the bigger acts they have there for way less money.

    agreed Gobbler. let’s carpool

C’mon man, Innsbrrok is a parking lot in a suburban office park. That place has no atmosphere or soul. At least at the Pavilion you’re covered in the rain….plus it’s a short walk to all the local watering holes.

If the past holds true, you’ll see the Pav announce a bunch more shows with a lot of the younger-skewing artists to play in the fall after the studentos get back. Remember they had Kings of Leon and Wilco in October last year. How soon we forget……

And the year before that as well with the Flaming Lips and Trey Anatasio. There are definitely gonna be some goodies in the last couple months of the schedule.

Can I elegantly retract that last statement? (Or do we need to kick up the MY MORNING JACKET lobbying committee another notch?)
